Supporting Cancer Care in Your Community
According to the Canadian Cancer Society (2019 projections), about one in two Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, and one in four will die from it. About half of these new cases of cancer (48%) will be lung, breast, colorectal and prostate cancer. Trillium Health Partners provides cancer care across all three sites to meet the growing need in our community. Last year we cared for over 2,800 inpatients (a 10% increase from the year before), with over 39,000 clinic visits for chemo (an 8% increase) and 13,000 clinic visits for radiation (a 7% increase).
By purchasing a T-shirt or by making a donation to the Mississauga Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund’s fundraising campaign, you are making a difference by helping to ensure that the cancer program at Trillium Health Partners remains one of the best in the country.
Your generous support of our cancer program will help us continue to transform cancer care in our community, so that our patients can continue to receive high-quality, specialized care without having to go outside of their community.
We are committed to ongoing innovation, and are the only hospital in Canada offering radiation treatment seven days a week to keep up with rising demand. With your investment, we can continue to address wait times and make it easier for patients to access the services they need at every stage of their cancer journey.
This is your opportunity to join the Mississauga Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund in helping to make a difference in the lives of so many people affected by cancer. Thank you for your support!
