Margaret runs a half-marathon!
I chose to raise money for Trillium Health Partners because of my close encounters with Credit Valley Hospital. It began with my birth, which my mother recalls, took place in a beautiful, newly renovated birthing suite - which no longer exists.
Credit Valley Hospital has helped my family greatly. Whether it be for trips to the emergency room when Elisabeth's gum surgery wen't wrong, or dropping Ellen off to volunteer there, or longer stays...
For me, it began in 2016, when I was admitted into Credit Valley's Eating Disorders Program. After a month inpatient, three months day patient, and two months in a transition program, I saw the enormous community which this hospital served. The staff helped me to regain my health and find purpose in my life.
My Grandma has been served by Credit Valley's Cancer Centre for the past four years. When she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer which had moved into her bones, she was given an estimation of six months to live. During her appointments she was always treated with respect by staff, given the best treatment options, and if she had any concerns was able to promptly get care.
Now that I am healthy enough, I am excited to train again with a purpose until May 6th.
